This class is designed with toddlers in mind. Children in this class should be 17 months old by August 31st. The class ratio is 10 children to 2 teachers. The children in this class have dropped their morning nap and are ready for having a busy daily schedule of play and learning.

Goals
The 2 year olds will take part in the following activities during the year:

• Play in Centers: Art, Building with blocks, Dramatic Play/Housekeeping, Library, Manipulative
• Daily Special Participation: Chapel, Discovery: Science/Math/Cooking, Music and movement
• Holiday and birthday celebrations
• Opportunities to share from home
• Outdoor playtime  (30 Minutes daily)
• Rhymes and stories

The 2 year olds will enhance their development in the following:

• Emotionally & spiritually:
• Easing separation anxiety
• Being secure and successful
• Having self-control and using words to express feelings
• Trusting others
• Christian songs taught (This little light, Jesus Loves the little children)
• Social skills:  
• Sitting at table for snack
• Following directions
• Functioning in a group setting
• Taking turns (Sharing)
• Responsibility/Independence (clean-up time)
• Physically & Mentally: 
  
• Gross motor skills (running, jumping with 2 feet bouncing balls, etc.)
• Fine motor skills (sorting, gluing, etc.) 
• Vocabulary development
  

Note: Repetition is a crucial learning tool for children at all ages. As children mature, they build on what they have learned in previous year(s).
